Women of Echelon Spotlight: Leah

Building Strength, Community, and Confidence Through Fitness

At Echelon Health & Fitness, we believe fitness is more than workouts. It’s about community, confidence, and helping people become stronger in every part of their lives.

As part of our Women of Echelon series celebrating Women’s History Month, we’re proud to spotlight Leah, a dedicated instructor, wellness professional, and long-time member of the Echelon community who continues to inspire those around her.

A Passion for Health, Wellness, and Helping Others

Leah was born in Philadelphia and raised in South Jersey, where she developed a lifelong passion for fitness and helping others improve their health and well-being.

Her background includes working in hospitality and healthcare, industries that focus on supporting and caring for others. Today, she brings that same dedication to her work at Echelon Health & Fitness.

In addition to being a fitness instructor, Leah is also a Reiki Master and Meditation Coach, helping individuals find balance through movement, breath, and mindfulness.

Her goal is simple but powerful:

To help create an environment where people feel supported, encouraged, and confident in their own fitness journey.

Outside the gym, Leah enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and their dog Luna, who shares her love for the beach and hiking.

Nine Years in the Echelon Community

Leah has been part of the Echelon Health & Fitness community for nine years, and during that time she has played an important role in shaping the welcoming atmosphere that members experience every day.

Her classes are known for their positive energy, supportive environment, and focus on helping people feel comfortable while challenging themselves to grow stronger.

At Echelon, our goal has always been to create a place where members feel like they belong—and instructors like Leah are a big part of making that happen.

How Fitness Can Transform Your Life

For Leah, fitness has always been a central part of her life.

What inspires her most is the idea that each person has the ability to take an active role in their own health and healing.

Over the years, fitness has helped her not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally.

Through consistent movement and mindfulness, she has learned how to better understand her body, manage stress, and maintain balance in her life—even during difficult times.

Like many people, she has faced challenging days. Fitness has been a powerful outlet and a steady source of strength through it all.

The Most Rewarding Part of Being an Instructor

When asked about the accomplishment she is most proud of, Leah didn’t talk about personal milestones.

Instead, she spoke about helping others succeed.

Seeing someone gain confidence, push past self-doubt, and realize they are capable of more than they believed is what motivates her most.

Helping members grow stronger—both physically and mentally—is what makes her work so rewarding.

The Strength of the Echelon Community

One of the biggest reasons Leah has remained part of Echelon for nearly a decade is the community that surrounds her.

The support from leadership, instructors, and members creates an environment where everyone encourages each other to succeed.

According to Jeff Quinn, Managing Partner of Echelon Health & Fitness:

"Leah is laser-focused on our members and her instructors. She brings an incredible level of care, professionalism, and heart to everything she does. The energy and support she creates in her classes truly represent what the Echelon community is all about."

A Role Model for the Next Generation

At almost 52 years old, Leah continues to stay motivated by her family and the example she hopes to set for the next generation.

She wants her children and younger family members to see that taking care of your body and staying active is something that matters at every stage of life.

Fitness isn’t about age—it’s about consistency, self-care, and showing up for yourself.

Advice for Women Starting Their Fitness Journey

For women thinking about beginning their fitness journey, Leah offers advice that is simple but powerful:

Start with compassion and love for yourself.

Fitness does not need to begin with intense workouts or unrealistic goals. Instead, start with small steps and focus on movement that feels good for your body.

Over time, those small steps create lasting change.

What Strength Really Means

To Leah, strength goes beyond physical fitness.

Strength means resilience.

It means showing up even when things feel difficult. It means taking care of yourself so you can support the people you love. And it means continuing to grow throughout every stage of life.

Why Leah Loves Echelon Health & Fitness

When asked what she loves most about Echelon, Leah’s answer was simple:

The community.

Seeing members feel welcomed, supported, and inspired every day—and watching the Echelon team bring passion and energy to helping others succeed—makes it incredibly rewarding to be part of this environment.
