At Echelon Health & Fitness, strength comes in many forms—and sometimes, it looks like calm, controlled movement with decades of discipline behind it. Meet Rong Kruckner, a truly unique addition to our instructor team who brings a blend of tradition, resilience, and mastery that you just don’t see every day.
A Journey Rooted in Tradition and Resilience
Rong’s story doesn’t start in a gym—it starts halfway across the world in Shanghai, China. After moving to the United States over 25 years ago, she carried with her something far more valuable than luggage: a deep connection to Tai Chi and Mulan Kung Fu.
But here’s where it gets real…
Her journey into fitness wasn’t about aesthetics or trends—it was about survival. After facing serious health challenges years ago, Rong turned to Mulan Boxing as a way to heal. And it worked. That experience didn’t just change her health—it gave her a mission.
Now she’s not just practicing… she’s passing it on.

World-Class Experience, Right Here at Echelon
Let’s be honest—most gyms aren’t bringing in instructors with this kind of resume:
Trained privately under world champion Tai Chi Master Sitan Chen
Learned directly from Mulan Boxing creator Grandmaster Meifeng Ying
Produced a Tai Chi performance DVD alongside elite practitioners
Won gold and silver medals in international competitions
Coached students who went on to win medals themselves
That’s not just experience—that’s legacy.
More Than Fitness—It’s Mind, Body, and Longevity
Rong’s classes aren’t about burning 500 calories and crawling out of the room (we’ve got Thrive for that 😏).
This is different.
Tai Chi and Mulan Boxing focus on:
Balance and coordination
Joint health and mobility
Mental clarity and stress reduction
Longevity and immune support
These practices are rooted in centuries-old methods that have been proven to improve overall health and even support conditions like high blood pressure and joint issues .
Translation? This is the stuff people should’ve been doing all along.
Why She Fits Echelon Perfectly
Even though Rong is new to Echelon, she’s already making an impact. She’s bringing something we always talk about—but now actually deliver at a higher level:
👉 Fitness for life, not just for looks👉 Community-driven wellness👉 Programs that meet people where they are
She’s also helping introduce a whole new audience to Echelon, including members of the local Chinese community who already love and respect these disciplines.
Her Philosophy: Simple, But Powerful
If you ask Rong what advice she’d give to someone starting their fitness journey, she doesn’t overcomplicate it:
“Just start. Find something you enjoy and make it part of your daily life.”
No hacks. No gimmicks. Just consistency.
Funny how the old-school approach still wins, right?
What Strength Means—The Echelon Way
To Rong, strength isn’t just about lifting heavier or pushing harder.
It’s about:
Balance
Patience
Consistency
A peaceful mind
And honestly… that’s a message a lot of people in today’s “go hard or go home” fitness culture needs to hear.
What’s Next
Rong is excited to continue building her Tai Chi program at Echelon—and potentially introduce Mulan Boxing classes specifically for women in the near future.
And if you’re smart (or your joints are starting to talk back like most people over 30 😅), you’ll give it a shot.
Final Thought
Echelon has always been about bringing the best to our community. Not just louder… not just trendier… but better.
Rong Kruckner represents exactly that.
A blend of tradition, expertise, and purpose that reminds us:
👉 Fitness isn’t just about looking strong.👉 It’s about staying strong—for life.
