South Jersey Gym Offers Free Workouts to Burn Off Thanksgiving Dinner

VOORHEES, NJ - Friday, November 23, 2018

Echelon Health & Fitness, a local, family owned gym, will be offering free workouts to anyone who comes in after the Thanksgiving holiday. The Thanksgiving Rebound is an effort to encourage to the local community to stay healthy during the holiday season, a time when many fitness goals get off track.

On Thanksgiving day, the Calorie Control Council reported that the average American is expected to consume over 3,000 calories at dinner alone. With drinks and dessert that number can jump to over 4,500. One of the best ways to combat the bloated feeling that comes after such a calorie dense meal is exercise.

From Friday to Monday, guests can go for a swim in the lap pool, jog on the indoor track, or take classes like Spin, Zumba, and Body Pump at no cost. Current members and guests are encouraged to bring along family and friends to make their workout more enjoyable and motivating.

“Our goal is to help our community, PERX Partners and their team become healthier, fitter and stronger and we know the pitfalls of the holidays,” said Jeff Quinn, General Manager at Echelon. “So if we can motivate our community to come workout for free why not?” he continued.

The Thanksgiving Rebound will be held from Friday, November 23 through Monday, November 26. Guests can sign up for their free workouts and group fitness classes by visiting echelonhf.com/thanksgiving-rebound.
