Thrive Tip of the Week: Water



Staying hydrated is a necessary aspect of any workout. Proper hydration helps to keep our muscle function and cardiovascular systems working correctly.

Below are a few tips on how to stay hydrated throughout your workout and continue performing at your best:

  • The recommended amount of water intake is ½ your body weight in ounces

  • Add 20 more ounces for every hour that you workout

  • Stay hydrated before your workout (14 - 22 fl oz, 2-4 hours before)

  • Every 15 to 20 minutes during your workout, consume anywhere from 3-8 fl oz

  • When exercising at high intensity for an hour or more or in hot conditions, consider a way to help replace electrolytes. Coconut Water is a natural way to achieve this result.
