In celebration of Women's History Month, Echelon Health and Fitness is proud to spotlight the influential women within our community. Today, we're featuring Krista Do, the owner of Akoi Nail Spa, a valued MemberPERX Partner. Here's a closer look at our conversation with Krista:
Q: When did you take over Akoi Nail Spa?A: Akoi was established in 2014 by my friend, Jestina Lam. I took over in April 2017.
Q: How did you come up with the name?A: The original name was "Koi," symbolizing accomplishment and courage. The fish also symbolize good fortune, success, prosperity, and ambition. "A" was added to the beginning for a better flow, creating "Akoi."
Q: Was Akoi your first business?A: Yes, it's my first business.
Q: What advice do you have for our female community who may want to be an entrepreneur?A: Have faith in your visions and what you want to represent. Most importantly, remember that one person can't do it all. Having a strong team beside you is what makes your business a success.
Q: Any future plans for other locations?A: I hope so!
Q: Over the years, how many Echelon members have you serviced?A: Too many to name, but it's nice that we have a community that's able to support each other's businesses. Specifically, we service about 50 Echelon members per week.
Q: How much do Echelon members save?A: Echelon members save 10% for regular members and 15% for Thrive members.
Q: What benefits do you see being a MemberPERX Partner?A: The fact that we can support each other and other businesses in the area.
Q: How does working out with Thrive help you in your business?A: Besides mentally and physically, it helps to bring a community together and able to accomplish our goals of being strong and healthy. Seeing myself as a busy bee, a mom, a business owner, and able to set time out for myself maybe helps encourage others to set out some time for themselves.
